Back to Trackless

Release notes

What changed in Trackless, newest first. This build is version 1.5.2.

  1. 1.5.2

    2026-09-27
    • If you sign up with an address that already has an account, no new code is sent. The verification screen now says so and points you to signing in or resetting your password, instead of leaving you waiting for a code that was never coming.
  2. 1.5.1

    2026-09-27
    • Pressing Escape on the session warning now keeps you signed in, the same as the button does. It used to do nothing.
  3. 1.5.0

    2026-09-27
    • If a page ever stops working, you now get a message, a button to get back and a way to tell us about it, instead of a blank screen.
  4. 1.4.1

    2026-09-27
    • In dark mode, the "Are you still there?" heading on the session warning was pale text on a pale card and could not be read. The card is dark now, so the question is legible.
  5. 1.4.0

    2026-09-27
    • Report a bug from your account menu. It picks up the page you were on, the version you are running and your browser, so you only have to say what happened, and it gives you a reference to quote if you email us about it.
  6. 1.3.0

    2026-09-25
    • There is a bell in the header now, and a Notifications row in the menu on a phone. It tells you when something you checked out is overdue back, and when a free trial is about to run out.
    • Opening a notice takes you to the page where you can deal with it.
    • Dismissing a notice clears it on your other devices too, not just the one in front of you.
    • You are told about the things YOU have out, rather than everything in the workspace, so a busy shared account does not fill up with other people's reminders.
  7. 1.2.0

    2026-09-24
    • The newsletter signup has moved out of the footer into its own section just above it, so it is easier to find and easier to read.
    • The Sign up button now responds when you hover over it.
  8. 1.1.1

    2026-09-23
    • The message shown after signing up no longer asks you to confirm. Nothing needs confirming: a welcome email simply arrives.
  9. 1.1.0

    2026-09-23
    • You can now sign up for the Bottle Blue newsletter from the footer, and on some pages from a small prompt that appears once and stays dismissed if you close it. Occasional updates about what we are building. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
  10. 1.0.0

    2026-09-20
    • Trackless is out of beta. Assets, work orders, reservations and the organization tools have been in daily use, and the version in the footer should say so.
  11. 1.0.0-beta.9

    2026-09-20
    • The sign-in page could not be scrolled after an idle sign-out. Being signed out for being inactive, or pressing Sign out on the reminder itself, left the page frozen in place until you reloaded it.
  12. 1.0.0-beta.8

    2026-09-20
    • Signing out now signs you out in every open tab. If you had Trackless open in more than one tab, the other tabs used to carry on showing your account after you signed out, or after your session ended for being idle, in one of them.
    • The "Are you still there?" reminder can now be used with a keyboard or a screen reader. Your keyboard is taken straight to the "I'm still here" button when the reminder appears, it stays inside the reminder while it is open instead of wandering onto the page behind, and it goes back to whatever you were doing when the reminder closes.
  13. 1.0.0-beta.7

    2026-09-19
    • Fixed a stray highlight line above and below the page content, most visible on a phone.
  14. 1.0.0-beta.6

    2026-09-19
    • The page no longer scrolls behind a dialog. Adding or editing an asset, work order or organization used to let the list underneath move while you were typing, so closing the dialog dropped you somewhere you had not chosen. This was worst on iPhone and iPad, where the menu had the same problem.
    • Screen reader and keyboard fixes: every page now has a proper main region and moves focus into it, so you are not sent back to the top of the page on every move, and jumping to a section from the home page now takes your keyboard focus with it.
  15. 1.0.0-beta.5

    2026-09-19
    • The reset password page worked again. It referred to something that did not exist and failed to render at all.
    • Resetting your password now checks the full password rule before sending, and both the signup and reset forms state the rule before you submit instead of only after a failed attempt.
    • Subscribing is faster. The Upgrade button no longer waits on a payment script to load before it can do anything.
  16. 1.0.0-beta.4

    2026-09-19
    • The footer now says which addresses our email comes from, and that payments are processed by Stripe rather than held by us. The email line had been written a long time ago and had never actually appeared on the page.
    • Tidied the footer spacing to match the other Bottle Blue apps.
  17. 1.0.0-beta.3

    2026-09-16
    • You can now find us on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Bluesky. The links are at the bottom of every page.
    • The release notes page now reads as a page rather than as the file behind it, with each version and its changes laid out instead of shown as raw text.
  18. 1.0.0-beta.2

    2026-09-16
    • Idle sign-out now works in a background tab. The 60-second warning counted timer ticks, and a hidden tab's timers are throttled to about one per minute, so signing out took about 75 minutes instead of 16. Deadlines are now read off the clock, and coming back to the tab re-checks them straight away.
    • The version in the footer is now a link to these notes.
  19. 1.0.0-beta.1

    2026-09-16
    • First versioned build. Everything below is what Trackless does as of this release, not a change made on the day.
    • Assets. Keep a register of tools, vehicles, equipment and components, each with a category, a status, and optional details like serial number, location, purchase date, value and notes. Browse as cards or as a sortable table, and export to CSV.
    • Checkout and checkin. Hand an asset to someone, set a due date, and check it back in. Every movement is kept in the asset's history.
    • Overdue and maintenance. An asset that is past its due date is flagged wherever it appears, including on a phone, and recurring maintenance schedules say what is due next.
    • Reservations. Book an asset for a future window without changing what its status says today.
    • Work orders. Raise, track and close work against an asset, and see an asset's open work from the asset itself.
    • Notes and links. Keep a log of notes on any asset, and link assets to each other so a kit, a vehicle and its equipment stay connected.
    • Map. Place assets on a map and open one from its pin.
    • Organizations. Share a workspace with other people, with roles, and switch between your own workspace and the ones you belong to.
    • Docs in the app. A Docs page explains how each part works and links to the matching API reference.
    • Account and billing. Manage your plan, see how much trial is left, and create, copy and delete API keys. Deleting a key now asks first.
    • Account menu. Docs, Account, Subscription and Sign out are grouped under one menu in the header, and the header collapses properly on a phone.
    • A public front page. trackless.io now explains the product to a signed-out visitor instead of sending them straight to a sign-in form, and the dashboard still lives at the same address once you are signed in.
    • Branding. The real Trackless mark is on the header, the footer, the sign-in screens and the browser tab.
